AMOS, Thomas L.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 12/15/2009 Thomas L. Amos, 61, of Queen Creek died Dec. 4, 2009, in Florence, Mont. He was born Sept. 3, 1948, in McNary. Tom graduated from Alchesay High School and excelled in basketball, baseball and football. He worked several jobs before being employed by the White Mountain Apache Game and Fish, where he and other members organized the Tribal Trophy Elk Hunt. He moved to Tucson where he worked servicing gas stations; later forming his own company, T-Bar Maintenance. He traveled Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada with work, later moving to Mesa forming a new company Maverick Petroleum. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and the great outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Kim; two daughters, Frankie and Tanya; Tommy, and grandkids Ricky, Steven, Bailee, Sawyer, Logan, Hope, and LeDaneea and parents Melvin and Oma Amos. A celebration of life was held Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Activity Center in Whiteriver.
