The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 12/11/2009 Edward Francis Jarnell Jr., 83, of Concho died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Summit Healthcare in Show Low. He was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Oak Lawn, Ill. He was raised and attended school in Oak Lawn. He married Velda Linn in 1945. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He had been a state commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Illinois and a member of Post 8081. He worked as a general contractor and carpenter. He moved to Phoenix 12 years ago and to Concho two and a half years ago. He enjoyed baseball and hunting. Survivors include his two daughters Joyce (Keith) Robinson of Concho and Rhonda Pritchard of Denver, Colo.; son Edward Jarnell III of Warrenville, Ill.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Velda. Services will be held in Illinois at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
