BACA, Cody Lee

(Maiden Name: Druce)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 09/07/2007 Cody Lee Druce-Baca went to be with her Father in Heaven in the early morning hours of Aug. 29, 2007. She passed away in her sleep at her residence in Snowflake. She was born in Show Low on March 28, 1980, to Richard Druce and Laree Hoaglin. She attended school in both Show Low and Snowflake. Only 27 years old, Cody leaves behind her loving husband, Joey; her daughters, Erin, Riann and Anissa. Missing her also are her grandparents, Chuck and Lana; mom Laree and stepfather Randy; and "Dad" Mike and mother-in-law Margee. She was preceded in death by her "Daddy" Richard, who left to be with the Lord two years ago. Cody worked for the Snowflake-Taylor Police Department and was Snowflake Fire Department's first female captain. She spent her life helping others as a dispatcher, firefighter and an EMT. Her lifelong passion was firefighting. She said that someday she would be the first female fire chief of the Snowflake Fire Department. Cody loved her husband and her three girls and she called Joey the man of her dreams. She dreamed of having a family and a new home. She took her small family and Joey's small family and brought them together to make that loving, happy family. She was so proud to be fixing up their new house into what she called a real home. She also loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Cody will be missed by all who were lucky enough to cross paths with her. She was a burst of sunshine in a cloudy sky. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Snowflake Stake Center, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with a visitation at the church. A family memorial fund has been set up in Cody Baca's name at all branches of National Bank of Arizona. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled arrangements.
