MIKLOS, John


John Miklos, 86, passed away on August 28, 2002 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born March 6, 1916 in Millfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife Ida Mai Miklos. John worked at the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio for 17 years. In 1958 John, his wife Mai and their children moved to Scottsdale where he pursued a career in the commercial art field. As an artist John participated in the Government WPA Project doing sculptures for government buildings in Ohio. He was a long time member of the Scottsdale Artist League and the Grand Canyon Wood Carvers Association. He is survived by a daughter Sally M. Meyer of Victoria Texas; son John Miklos, Jr., of Phoenix, Arizona, and daughter, Tennessee L. Browne of Brevard NC; and his sister Pearl E. Prebynski of Akron, Ohio, also 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services Sunday, September 1, 2002 with visitation at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.
