John "Jack" Edward Kelly, 45, of Phoenix, AZ went to heaven cradled in the arms of angels on Feb. 6, 2003.
Born in Chicago, Ill, Jack's family moved to Arizona in 1970. He attended St. Thomas the Apostle School, St. Mary's High School and graduated from Arizona State University. While attending ASU he was in the Air Force R.O.T.C. program and when he graduated, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force where he served his nation until 1989. Upon retirement he continued to serve his nation working at the VA Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
He is survived by his mother, Muriel E. Kelly of Chandler, his brother, Donald E. Kelly of Chandler and his sister Eileen Kelly Bienz of Chandler. He is also survived by his dearly loved nieces and nephews, Rachael Kelly Bienz, Sean Patrick Kelly, Kiersten Rose Kelly, Donald Edward Kelly, and Stephania Rachael Kelly Bienz.
To celebrate his life, a funeral mass will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 3450 W. Ray Rd. Chandler at 10:30 AM on Friday February 14, 2003.
A visitation will be held for all of his friends and family from 5PM-8PM at Lakeshore Mortuary 1815 S. Dobson Rd. Mesa AZ on Thursday February 13th. He is now in heaven in "High Flight" with his father, grandparents, uncles, aunts and astronauts. He is forever loved in our hearts and souls and touched many while he walked the Earth.
In lieu of flowers, our family requests donations be made to the Phoenix Fire Department's Community Assistance Gift Fund, 150 S 12th St. Phx, AZ 85034. The Phoenix Fire Department provided Jack and our family great comfort and support.
