YANEZ, Nettie


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, January 16, 2003 Nettie Yanez, 88, a native of Phoenix passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2003. She was born at home assisted by a country doctor on December 13, 1914. She was a retired nurse and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for 5 years. Nettie was an active member of her church, Sts. Simon and Jude Cathedral and was proud to say she stood at the ground breaking of the original church. She loved her family and many friends, often baking pies and cakes for them. Gardening was her passion for many years, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her husband Alphonso Yanez. She is survived by her son, Edward Al, his wife Lynn, of Phoenix, son, Richard, his wife Susie of Ca., and her daughter, Lucy Wondoloski, her husband Joe of Tempe. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She lived her life with dignity and grace. Visitation, Friday, January 17, 2003, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 10:00 a.m., A.L. Moore Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
