Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Theresa Ann Ellerman 5/3/1960 - 12/12/2009 Theresa Ann Ellerman died suddenly on December 12, 2009 in Norfolk, North Carolina. She was born May 3, 1960 in New Mexico; the daughter of Frank and Angie (Sedillo) Zamora. Theresa was 49 years old. Theresa spent her childhood years in Prescott, Arizona. Upon graduation from high school, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and over the years was stationed at Camp Pendleton California, Paris Island South Carolina, Okinawa Japan, and most recently at Camp Lejeune North Carolina. After over twenty years of devoted service to her country, she retired from the corps as Gunnery Sergeant and continued her civilian life in Jacksonville, North Carolina employed by Osage of Virginia, an environmental consulting firm as an Environmental Technician. Theresa enjoyed antiques, gardening, sewing and loved the four dogs, Pooch, Baylee, Molly and Sadie. She enjoyed sailing, fishing, canoeing and just being on the water. She especially loved spending time with family and friends. She is remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her incredible energy and enthusiasm for life, her compassion and encouragement to those around her who needed a listening ear and her dedication to do everything with excellence and integrity. Her devotion to her children was evident to all. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Theresa is survived by her children, Erin, Dana and Matthew; mother, Angie Zamora; siblings Ray, Larry and Elaine Zamora; aunt (Sister) Carmen Calderon, she was preceded in death by; Jamie Nicole Ellerman and father, Frank Zamora. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, December 16, 2009 Theresa Ann Ellerman, 49, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk, Va. Ms. Ellerman was born May 3, 1960. She spent her childhood years in Prescott, Ariz. Upon graduation from high school, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and over the years was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Paris Island, S.C., Okinawa, Japan, and most recently at Camp Lejeune, N.C. After more than 20 years of devoted service to her country, she retired from the corps as Gunnery Sergeant and continued her civilian life in Jacksonville, N.C., employed by Osage of Virginia, an environmental consulting firm, as an environmental technician. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Nicole Ellerman, and her father, Frank Zamora. Visitation will be open to the public from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Ruffner Funeral Home in Prescott, Ariz., followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
