HENDERSON, Ola Sarah


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, January 17, 2003 Ola Sarah Henderson - Ola was born in Del Rio, Texas on May 20, 1909. She rejoined her husband Stuart with the Lord on January 14, 2003. She came to Arizona in 1930 to teach school in Scottsdale, Arizona. She later taught in Wickenburg, Arizona and after graduation from ASU was employed by the City of Phoenix for many years as a children's librarian until her retirement in 1972. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Eleanor Gilbert (Steve) of Henderson Nev., and Shirley Jeanne Simpson (Roger), of Pine, Az.; grandchildren, Michelle Hemberger (Dean), Shannon Rider (Scott), Krystyn Gilbert, Sarah Gilbert, Robert Simpson (Carol), James Simpson, Kathryn Vause (Michael), Stephen Simpson (Carol), Pjay Evans (Joe), Tina Ashworth (Wayne); fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at First Congregational Church, 1407 N. 2nd St. Phoenix, Az. at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday January 19, 2003. The Family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of the Beatitudes Campus Care Center for their love and care for Ola the past eight years. Donations to Hospice of the Valley are requested.
