MCMAHON, Amby Kenneth


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, January 18, 2003 Amby Kenneth McMahon, 58, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2003. He was preceded in death by his father, Ambrose McMahon, and is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathie McMahon, two daughters: Lorri Gillett (James) of Texas; and Julie McMahon, soon to be Peters (Scott), of Phoenix; parents Gene and Mary Jo Stockdale and sister, Marileene Hiatt (Paul), of Wash.; four brothers:,Norman McMahon (Betsy), Jim McMahon (Nancy), Dan McMahon (Bambi), John McMahon (Robin) all of Arizona; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica, Texas, many nieces and nephews, two great-nephews and two great-nieces. Amby was born on October 11, 1944 in Mexico City, Mexico to missionary parents. He served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1965 through 1967. He was a lifelong block layer who owned and operated Siena Masonry and also was an avid hunter who loved the great outdoors. Amby was a member of Palmcroft Baptist Church most of his life and was active in their Evangelism Explosion Ministry, telling many people of Jesus' love for them. Services will be held at Palmcroft Baptist Church, located at 15235 North 35th Avenue at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, on Monday, January 20th, 2003 with interment at Phoenix Memorial Park, located at 200 West Beardsley Road immediately following.
