Vern Thomas Ryan, entered into rest with our Lord on January 11, 2003. He was born January 14, 1924 in Lincoln, Ill.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marianne; two daughters, Patricia Ryan of Phoenix, Az. and Pamela Hayes of Decatur, Ill.; two grandchildren, Amy Hayes of Boston, Ma. and Angie Cook of Decatur, Ill
Vern was a Boiler Engineer for the State of Illinois.
He was a World War II veteran, where he had proudly served his country as a Master Sargent in the Air Force. He was a member of the Shriners.
In his later years, he was known as "The Licorice Man" who dispensed smile producing quips and joy to those who visited his licorice stand.
Services will be held Monday, January 20, 2003, Pleasant Acres Mobile Home Park, 9421 E. Apache trail, Mesa, Arizona, at 12 Noon.
