Warren 0. Cordes, at the age of 80 went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2003.
He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a dedicated member of the communities where he lived.
Warren was a native of Arizona, born March 22, 1922 in Mayer, Az.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth E. Evans, three daughters, Janet Polasky, husband Paul, of Wayne. Pa.; Mitzie Cordes-Heydt, husband Bob, of Gilbert, Az.; and Laura Rogers, husband Lynn, of Springervil1e, Az; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister Edna Warren and brothers, Henry and Calvin Cordes.
Warren is a veteran of WWII where he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp.
He was a farmer/ stockman all his life. He retired from the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in 1984. He served on the Apache County Farm Bureau, Fair Commission, Soil Conservation boards; and was active in youth organizations of 4-H and FFA throughout his adult life.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Arizona 4-H Foundation, P.O. Box 210036, Tucson, Az., 85721, or the Arizona Agricultural Education/ FFA Foundation, 1303 E University Blvd., Box 20864, Tucson, Az., 85719-0521.
Services will be Monday, January 20, 2003 at Serenity Mausoleum Chapel, Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery located at 719 N. 27th Ave. Phoenix, Az.
Visitation will be 12:00 noon and the funeral, at 1:30 p.m., burial to follow.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Springerville, Az.
