The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 15, 2003 Sara H. Hunt, 73, of Snowflake, Arizona, passed away February 12, 2003. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM, Friday, February 14th at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 15th at the Snowflake Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Courtesy of Pat Wilson. ------------------ The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 02/20/2003 Sara Huntington Hunt, 73, died Feb. 12, 2003 in Snowflake. Sara was born in Mesa. The family lived in Chandler for a time before they moved to Los Angeles, California where she graduated from high school. She attended college in Whittier, California. It was while she was visiting her uncle's ranch near Heber that she met Dellma Hunt of Snowflake. They were married in Oct. 1951 in Winslow and were later sealed in the Arizona Temple in Mesa. She continued her education at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff where she obtained her B.A. in elementary education. She taught school on the Navajo Indian Reservation for ten years. During that time they lived in both Snowflake and Toyei. They took an early retirement and came back to Snowflake when Dellma's health began to fail. He died in July 1983. Sara had become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after she married Dellma. She served faithfully in various capacities in the church over the years. She loved to travel and to read. Sara is survived by four daughters, Merle and Allan Adams of Snowflake, Sylvia and Melvin Hansen of Snowflake, Nonie and Mike Quimby of Taylor, and Wanda and Kenneth Witt of Springerville, one sister, Ann Kadock of San Jose, California; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Snowflake Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial was in the R.V. "Mike Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake. *Born November 23, 1929 in Mesa, AZ
