John T. Malkie, 75, passed away January 18, 2003. A 45 year resident of Glendale, Az., he was born October 31, 1927 in Staten Island, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Shirley McClure; daughter, Shannon McClure of Thayer, Mo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence H. and Pamela J. McClure, John Mark McClure and Angie Snyder and son, Chris Malkie of Burbank, Ca.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
John has been preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie McClure.
Following service in the United States Army during World War II, he achieved a Marketing degree from New York University, and retired from General Electric/ Honeywell/Bull after a 31 year career.
John was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity, and had been president of the Tolleson Lions Club, Multi-District Lions' White Cane Chairman, Grand Commander and Deputy Regional Director of El Khatib, Order of the Alhambra, and a life member of the DAV. Devoted to the Knights of Columbus, he was a Grand Knight and a faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree, but is best remembered for the 14 years he spent as Knights of Columbus State Round Table Chairman.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 22nd, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, Glendale.
A memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Glendale, on Thursday, January 23rd at 10:30 a.m.
Interment at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, the following service.
