Rev. Leonard M. Thomas, 64, loving husband, father, grand-father, brother and friend, was called home Friday, January 17, 2003. Born in Plainview, Texas, he and his family moved to Arizona when he was 2 years old.
He ministered to many people for over 40 years telling of Jesus' love for them. Leonard became a formally ordained minister 20 years ago, serving as pastor of Eastside Assembly of God, in Phoenix. He also started the Let Go, Let God Recovery Program.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Betty; his beloved children and their spouses, Leonard (Suzie) Thomas, Faye (Kent) Cox, and Lisa (Bob) Nielson; brothers Leon (Cathy) Thomas, and Tom (Mara) Thomas; loving granddaughters, Melissa, Rachel (Ethan), DD, Pamela, Lynda, and Jessyca; and Aunt Opal Coy.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 22nd and a service celebrating his life at 10 a.m. Thursday, both at Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Ave, Phoenix, Az.
