ASHBURN, Raymond Kevin

Raymond Kevin Ashburn, 33, passed away on the 27th of June in the year of our Lord 2002 in Glendale, AZ. He was born on December 15, 1968 in Terrell, TX. He was baptized at the Church of Christ in Baird, Texas and was one of seven children. On May 17, 1998 he married Michelle Lynn Anderson in Cavecreek, AZ. Ray was a member of the UFCW and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1985 to 1989. His father, Donald Harrison Ashburn, precedes him in death. Survivors include his wife Michelle Ashburn; parents Kyle and Elizabeth Meadows; sisters; Donna (Bob) Rosencranse, Teresa (Terry) Neal, Leslie Henry, Elisa Meadows; brothers Charles (Cindy) Ashburn, Matthew (Stephanie) Meadows, nine nieces and nephews. His in-laws William and Barbara Anderson, brother-in-law Bret Anderson, and sister-in-law Christine (fianc Adam) Anderson. A devoted and loving husband, son and brother, Ray was a special person who thought never of himself only of others. His sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of everyone that considered him a friend. In the short time he was with us, Ray always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he came in contact with. Anyone that knew him knew the man he was. He will be greatly missed but will remain forever in our hearts. "Go Cowboys!" Services were held Tuesday, July 2nd, 2002, at Botimer Funeral Home. The Arizona Republic July 04, 2002
