Kurt John Frederic Koehler, age 69, passed away Feb. 13th [2003]in Phoenix.
Kurt, son of Rev. Kurt Koehler and Louise Lydia Koehler, was born in Princeton, IL on flag day, June 14, 1933. He grew up in Rock Island, IL and attended Immanuel Lutheran School Central Jr. High School and Rock Island Sr. High School, graduating in 1952.
He served in the Korean War from 1 953-1955, then attended the University of Illinois at Champaign. He was a design engineer for W.J. Reese & Associates, John Deere Co., Moline, IL and O'Neill Engineering after moving to Phoenix in 1985. He enjoyed doing ceramics and was owner of U.S. Originals, a wholesale supplier of decorated ceramics. Also, he enjoyed golfing and classical music.
He is survived by his wife Lynn, 2 daughters, Kelli and husband James Carmack and Kathi O'Bier; his son, Christopher and wife, Dianne; 6 grandchildren and 1 sister, Hilda Nutter and husband Lowell.
He was preceded in death by one son, and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 6-8PM, Monday, February 17, 2003, Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St.
A graveside service will be held at 9AM, Tuesday, February 18, 2003, National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd.
