Gary P. Munnell, 65, passed away on February 9, 2003 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in California on September 28, 1937.
He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin; sister, Linda; and brother, Calvin.
He will be missed tremendously by his wife, Nancy; Mother, Yvonne; children, Sandy (Jim) Hannley, Ginger (Peter) Jauch, Patty (Tom) Sundt, and Steve (Amy) Munnell; grandchildren, Paul, Sean, Gary, Patrick, Stephen, Alex, Scott, Hayley, Emily, and Jacob; and sister, Carole. Gary also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and an infinite number of friends.
Gary honorably served his country in the Air Force and retired from the FAA after 30 years. For the last four years he has been employed by TUSD as a bus driver and has served diligently as a Union Steward. His "kids" will miss him greatly. Gary was a man of many talents and interest that included poetry, writing, hunting, golfing, and bowling. He took great pleasure in coaching youth soccer, first for his son and then for his grandsons. "Coach Gary" will be fondly remembered by all of his players.
He was a wonderful man and each day of his life he made our world a better place to be.
The heavens will be brighter because he is there.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at the Bear Canyon Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 9541 E. Snyder
Rd. Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Tucson.
