HAUSTEEN, Charles Jule


Charles Jule Hausteen died July 1, 2002; Phoenix, AZ, age 78. He was born in Chicago, IL on May 4, 1924. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gunvor Hausteen, both from Norway, and his sister Evelyn, and his first wife Marilyn. He is survived by wife Carol Riley Cota Hausteen, son Richard (Riverside, CA) and daughter Karen (Show Low, AZ); step children Judy (Jerry) Jones (Corona, CA), Cynthia (Don) Tremel (Las Vegas, NV), Tina Mog (NC) and Marc (Carrie) Cota (Las Vegas, NV); eight grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Chuck was an electrical engineer and worked in the aviation industry and later with wind powered generators. He served in the US Navy during WWII. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling to such places as Norway and Ireland, and cruises to Alaska and through the Panama Canal. He also enjoyed woodworking and repairing things for family and neighbors. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America with his son Rick and later with his grandsons, Matt, Doug and David. Chuck lost his life to a devastating stroke. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Visitation Friday, July 5th, 2002, at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd.
