The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 18, 2003 John M. Rotz, Jr., age 83, a former resident of Muncie, IN, passed away February 15, 2003 at Sun City, AZ. Born Nov. 2, 1919 in Indianapolis, IN to John & Nester (Rhinehart) Rotz. John was a pharmacist for over 60 years. He owned Rotz Cactus Pharmacy in Phoenix, Rotz Drug in Muncie, and also worked for Arrow Pharmacy in Chandler, AZ. Member of St. Louis the King Church, Knights of Columbus, 32nd Degree Mason, Rotary Int'l, Ball Hospital Aux., Muncie Club, was a lifetime member of USAC, and founder of Westview School Fall Festival. Preceded in death by his wife, Nancy in 1978, and wife Ruth in 2000; daughter, Sally; brother, Rhiman; and nephew Rhiman Jr. John is survived by daughters, Ann Moore & Mary Patricia Thomas; sons, John III (Deedee), Thomas (Robin), & James (Marcia) Rotz; 11 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation, 5-8 PM, Wed., Feb. 19th at Chapel of the Chimes, Glendale, AZ; Funeral Mass, 10:00 AM, Thursday, Feb. 20th at St. Louis the King Catholic Church, Glendale, AZ. Graveside service 10:00 AM, Friday, Feb. 21, 2003 at St. Francis Cemetery, Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers contributions to Rotz Engine Lab at Rose Hulman Terre Haute, IN or charity of your choice.
