WALTERS, Ervin Henry


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, January 22, 2003 Ervin Henry WaIters, 82, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on January 15, 2003. He was born in Waterloo, Iowa and attended UCLA. He worked for Douglas, TRW, and retired from Motorola. He was a WWII veteran and served as an Army Sgt. in active duty in the invasion of the Philippines in 1945. He participated in the occupation of Japan to restore order and provide for military police protection just after the surrender. Ervin was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal with a bronze arrowhead, bronze star, Philippine liberation ribbon, good conduct medal, WW II victory medal and army occupation medal. His son, Guy C. Walters of Desert Hills, Az., survives him. Services will be held on January 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, Az.
