CALLIHAN, Kaye Franklin


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, December 19, 2009 Kaye Franklin Callihan, age 76, passed away on Dec. 13, 2009, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born on Dec. 3, 1933, in Helena, Ohio, to Franklin and Elizabeth Callihan. Kaye attended Gibsonberg High School in Ohio and later graduated from Ohio State University. After college, he served in the U.S. Army. Kaye made his career as a ceramics engineer and retired in 1999. He then moved with his wife, Sue, to Prescott, Ariz., from Santa Barbara, Calif. When he arrived in Prescott, Kaye started his second career as a substitute teacher for the Chino Valley and Prescott school districts. Kaye is survived by his wife, Sue Callihan; children Elizabeth R. (Matthew) Williams, Teresa A. Callihan (Andrew Tuttle), Cynthia S. (Kevin) Schulze and Christina M. Callihan; grandchildren Lindsay N. Williams, Dylan P. Williams, Eric T. Schulze, Emily K. Schulze, Angel A. Schulze, Alize A. Schulze, Joseph D. Schulze, and Jillian M. Schulze; and sister Patricia Vitek. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Dec. 22, 2009, at the Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., Prescott, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to any of the following organizations in Kaye's name: Prescott Unified School District (music and/or athletic departments), 146 S. Granite St., Prescott, AZ 86303 (or preferred school); Acorn Montessori School, 8556 E.
