HERRICK, Kenneth

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, December 14, 2009 Kenneth Herrick, 66, owner of Herrick Electric, went to be with his dad on Dec. 9, 2009. They worked together for so long he figured his dad needed help lighting up the stars. He was born in Tacoma, Wash., moved to Phoenix in 1946 and graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1961. He married Nancy on Valentine's Day in 1975 and 1980 (couldn't get it right the first time). She became an electrician by marriage and worked by his side for 29 years. He loved work, riding his 3-wheeled trike, the Seattle Seahawks, Prescott and San Felipe, Mexico. His fierce determination and fighting attitude against cancer kept him living life to the fullest until the last week. His beloved wife was by his side, as always. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad in 2007. He is survived by wife Nancy; son Kent (Brenda); granddaughter Layne; stepdaughter Sandee (Dennis) Denomme; and stepson Alan (Lucinda) McNeil. His courage and love will be with us always. His body was donated to research. No services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Foundation for Cancer Research, 4600 E. West Highway, Ste. 525, Bethesda, MD 20814. Information provided by survivors.
