LAGOURGUE, Kenneth Byron (Kenny)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, December 12, 2009 Kenneth (Kenny) Byron LaGourgue, 63, passed away on Nov. 25, 2009, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born on Feb. 16, 1946, in Porterville, Calif., to Roy Byron and Janet LaGourgue. Kenny went to Glendale Union Academy and later to California College of Mortuary Science in Los Angeles, Calif. He became a funeral director at a family-owned business. In 1975, Kenny moved to Prescott and became part-owner in the Planter Box Restaurant at Antelope Hills Golf Course, the 19th Hole at Prescott Country Club, and Senor Tubbmans' Mexican Restaurant. He owned J.D.'s Lounge for many years; afterward, he worked with Sun State Heating and Cooling. Kenny's hobbies were fishing, boating, golfing and NASCAR. He loved to travel to Hawaii (especially Kauai and Maui), Puerto Vallarta and Cancun, Mexico. Kenny is preceded in death by his beloved wife Tammy in 2006 and his father, Byron, in 1994. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Janet and Richard (Dick) Chalmers; brother Dr. John (Helen) LaGourgue; nephews John Marc LaGourgue and Richard LaGourgue, as well as many friends. Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. There will be a gathering of friends and family from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at The Windsock, 1385 Iron Springs Road in Prescott.
