HERTENSTEIN, Frederick Scott

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, January 23, 2003 Scott Hertenstein, 89, passed away January 21, 2003 in Mesa, Arizona. Scott was born the son of Fred and Ella Hertenstein, July 14, 1913 in Southern Illinois. Scott married Dorothy Dillehunt, with their daughter Joan they moved to California. Dorothy preceded him in death in 1976. After retiring from Fairfield Aircraft where he worked for several years, Scott moved to Payson, Arizona where he met and married Maxine Darland who also preceded him in death in 1998. A friend to all who knew him. He loved Golf and was an avid sportsman, watching whatever he could. Scott is survived by his daughter, Joan Decker; step-daughter, Ellen Bolcko; sisters-in-law: Helen Garrick, Lucy Contento, Ann, Marge and Peggy Dillehunt, all of Mesa, Arizona. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson Mike Decker in 1998. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona, 85012.
