KLATT, Leonard Henry


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, January 23, 2003 Leonard Klatt of Phoenix, Arizona passed away January 20, 2003 at the age of 83. Leonard was born in Toledo, Ohio on Oct. 19, 1919. He joined the Army in 1941 and while stationed in French Morocco during WWII, he met and married Sultana Klatt, his wife of 57 years. He proudly served his country for 22 years, was a veteran of 3 wars and served in numerous foreign posts including Germany, Philippines and occupied Japan. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his brother, Robert Klatt of Collinsville, Ill.; his sisters, Dorothy Rollins and Beatrice Zielinski of Toledo, Ohio; his five children, Christine, Danielle, James, Timmothy and David; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Charles Klatt and his brother, Daniel Klatt. In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Az., 85014. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2003 at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, Az.
