Richard L. Duran, 65, of Casa Grande died Sept. 29, 2002 at home.
Visitation Wednesday (October 2, 2002) at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Casa Grande Chapel. The funeral was held Thursday (today) at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Ballew and the Rev. Ernest Pilgrim officiating.
Mr. Duran was born April 16, 1937 in Tolleson to Ramiro W. and Isabel Lopez Duran.
He was raised in Stanfield and attended school there and Casa Grande Union High School. He was a farmer and his work was his passion, as was sending time with his family. He also enjoyed old western movies and Diamondbacks baseball games.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Esperanza "Hope" (Castillo); five daughters, Teresa Duran-Gordon of Salem, Utah, Natalie Hanke of Dodgeville, Wis., Tina Apodaca and Valerie Duran-Johns of Casa Grande and Matilda Duran of Hidden Valley; a sister, Mary Esther Rodriguez of Stanfield; six brothers, Paul and Carmelo Duran of Casa Grande, Henry Duran of Palm Springs
