Arcenia "Candy" Welshans passed away on July 2, 2002 surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous wait for a liver transplant.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth "Cuca" Flores, her sister, Gloria and her brother, Louie. Candy's pride and joy was her beloved family; her husband, Jim and her sons, Micole (Mary Pat), Marc (Marcy) and James Douglas. Her grandchildren, who completed her joy, will miss their Nana immensely - Andrew, Ashley, Sergio, Ryan and baby Jack. Survivors also include her father, Luis Flores (Ann), sisters, Melinda, Yolanda and Sonia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Candy was a loyal friend loved by many. She was a dedicated and caring teacher who contributed to the formation of many little lives in Tempe and Phoenix.
Memorial service Friday, July 5, 2002 at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale. Candy's love of flowers was no secret, but you may choose to make a contribution to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
