Helen F. Cvitanovich, age 81, of Litchfield Park, AZ, died July 3, 2002. She was born in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Malopolski.
She was a registered nurse, graduated from Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, in 1943. She entered the U.S. Army as a lieutenant and Registered Nurse and served overseas on Okinawa during its liberation. After the war, she returned to Cook County Hospital as a supervisor. Recalled to active duty in 1950 during the Korean War she served in the U.S. Air Force. Servicing in various stateside assignments and overseas in Germany and France. Upon her marriage in 1957 she reverted to reserve status, retiring as a Lt. Col. She held many various service medals including the Meritorious Medal.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Col. USAF, retired; sisters Clara Baldwin of Chicago, Ill and Sister Victoria Mazel a Catholic nun, in Manitowoc Wisconsin. Private Service will be held.
