GURMAN, Marvin Theodore


Marvin Theodore Gurman, age 74, has passed peacefully on June 26, 2002, at his home in Scottsdale, AZ, with his family in attendance. His wife Joanne of 50 years, along with his sons Hal Ross and Glenn and his grandson Liam Ty, hold him in blessed memory. Marvin's service to his faith, his country, and his community has been a lifetime commitment. He was an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster in his youth, then in World War 2 served as an analyst on the staff of Gen. MacArthur in Tokyo, Japan. While a resident of Mallorca, Spain, he was co-founder of the first Jewish Synogogue on the island. As a Scottsdale resident he continued his service to the community as a volunteer at Scottsdale Memorial North. Marv leaves a creative legacy as a fine artist, home builder, and realtor. A memorial service will be held in his honor. The Arizona Republic July 6, 2002
