The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, January 23, 2003 Jennie M. Torgerson, passed away on Jan. 20. in Phoenix, Arizona. She has been married to husband Warren for 59 years and both have resided in Tempe for over 48 years. Mrs. Torgeson was a secretary for Tempe Elementary District #3 for over 25 years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #50 and past Matron of the same group. In 1999 and 2000 she was named Tempe volunteer of the year and was director of the Tempe Songbirds for 12 years. She is survived by her husband Warren, sons, Alan and Wayne, daughters, Nancy Dutcher and Susan Daniels, brother John Christiansen and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday 10 a.m. at the 1st Congregational Church of Tempe 101 E 6th St. Tempe Az., 85281. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the church.
