Margaret White Bayley Montgomery, 85, formerly of Casa Grande, died June 6, 2002, in Kent, Washington.
The funeral was held June 14 at Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church in Caldwell. Interment was in Canyon Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Montgomery was born Sept. 18, 1916 in Oakland, Calif., to William H. and Margaret Hunter White, one of seven children. She grew up in California and Arizona, graduating from Casa Grande Union High School in 1934. She married Carl Bayley in 1936 in Casa Grande. He was a farmer and she worked for the telephone company before their three children were born in Casa Grande. In 1952 they moved to a farm near Notus, Idaho.
They were active in Notus Grange for many years as well as the Farm Bureau. They enjoyed square dancing and pinochle and especially attending their children's school activities. Carl died in 1958 and Mrs. Bayley sold the farm in 1962 and moved to Caldwell. She married John W. "Jack" Montgomery in 1965. They farmed and she worked at Glen L. Evan Company, creating fishing tackle. In 1976 they retired, enjoying bowling, golf, fishing and traveling in their RV. Her husband died in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Bayley of Post Falls, Idaho; a daughter, Fon Couture of Black Diamond, Wash.; two stepsons, John and David Montgomery of Caldwell; a stepdaughter, Ann Chase of Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Dave White of Casa Grande and Alan White of Kerrville, Texas; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Lynn Bayley, in 1960, and four brothers, William, Richard, Theodore and Robert White.
