Adolph (Al) Hasbach, 80, of Phoenix, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family February 16, 2003.
Al was born on March 6, 1922 in Chicago, IL. He served as Lieutenant in the US Navy in the Pacific. He moved to Phoenix in 1951 to work for the Arizona Republic as a printer while pursuing a college education. He received his degrees from Arizona State University and taught for the Phoenix Union School District. He retired from the School District as the Director of the Psychology Department.
Al was a "gentle giant" who will be missed for his dedication to his family, his generosity of spirit and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn; sons Gary Hasbach, Kenneth Hasbach, and Keith Hasbach; daughters Jeanne Gauthier and Christine Wenzel; grandchildren Alison Hasbach, Christian Hasbach, James Hasbach, Tara Lavoie, Eric Hasbach, Geoff Hasbach, Elaine Ott, Cassandra Wenzel, and Erika Wenzel; great-grandchildren Griffin Hasbach and Aden Hasbach.
Services will be on Saturday, February 22, 2003 from 1:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 10815 North 35 Ave.
Donations to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in lieu of flowers.
