Mercer Chapel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 20, 2003 Agnes M. Holst, 92, of Phoenix, died Saturday, February 15, 2003. She was born in Pittsburg, PA on January 29, 1911. Agnes was a graduate of Andrew Mellon University in Pittsburg. She taught in public schools in Pittsburg, then taught piano and flute in the Phoenix area for 50 years. She was also a choral music director and composer. Agnes was a Photography National Judge for black and white photos. She was involved in many organizations, such as; Photographic Society of America, Piano Teachers Organization, Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity, created the Bold Note Music program for blind students, and was choir director at Faith Lutheran Church, where she was a member, and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Agnes is survived by her cousin, Jorgen Holst, of Denmark. Memorial service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, February 22, 2003 at Faith Lutheran Church, 801 E. Camelback Rd. Phx.
