R. Burton "Burt" Johnson, 98, of Sun City West, AZ, died Feb. 15, 2003.
Military service: U.S. Navy WWII Veteran served from 1942-1945.
Services on Sat., Feb. 22, 2003 at 1pm at Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 Camino Del Sol, Sun City West, AZ.

R. Burton "Burt" Johnson, of Sun City west, passed away February 15, 2003. Burt was born in New Hartford, NY August 9, 1904. He moved to Walla Walla, WA as a small child, received his education there and started working for Standard Oil of CA in 1923. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served until the end of WWII.
After the war he went into the insurance business in Arizona and eventually became General Agent for Mutual of Omaha, Hiner Johnson Associates. He worked that capacity until his retirement in January 1981. Burt was very involved through his life in many hobbies, civic activities and groups which include The "White Mountain Range Riders", Cub Master for Boy Scouts, member of the Board of Directors for Maricopa County Campfire Girls, The Optimist Club President in 1951, President of The March of Dimes in 1952 and many other activities to numerous to mention.
He married Harriet Hiner of Salt Lake City in 1942 and loved her dearly all of his remaining life. He and Harriet were the proud parents of Carol Fridena of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Johnson of Corvallis, OR and Kathleen Rodrigues of Port Townsend, WA. He is also survived by one brother William C. Johnson of Lewiston, CO . They have seven Grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father. He will be sorely missed by those who loved him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday February 22, 2003 at 1:00 PM at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel 13738 Camino del Sol; Sun City West.
