The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 19, 2003 Ruth Reyes. On the day that many people are celebrating love, St. Valentine's Day, one woman was chosen to complete her life's journey. Ruth Reyes, 79, was born in Tucson on July 4, 1923. Independence Day. Ruth was raised in Buckeye and wed her husband, Claudio Reyes, in 1940. Together Ruth and Claudio started their family in Glendale, Arizona. Ruth was the Matriarch of a family that spans 4 generations. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother. Ruth is survived by her husband, Claudio; her four children: Patsy Velasquez Claudina Candia, Ramon Reyes, and Ruben Reyes; her 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. In her 79 years, Ruth has given her family a lifetime of wonderful memories that will be cherished for all eternity. We miss you Nana. You will be forever in our hearts. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 20, 2003 with a Rosary said in her name at 7:00 P.M. at Chapel of the Chimes 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 21, 2003 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 5614 W.
