SAVOY,
John Erie
The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona
February 19, 2003
John Erie Savoy, on Saturday, February 15, 2003, John Erie Savoy went to meet the Lord.
John was the loving husband of Nancy Fees Savoy, who will forever hold him in her heart. He was family focused and will be deeply missed by all of his family: daughters, Denise, Jan, Marianne and Joan; and by the men who were his sons of the heart, Tom Holder, Tom Cole, Barry Paceley and Ron Miller. His grandchildren, Kelly, Shannon, Ian, Adam, John J., Jamie and Jeremy, will miss their smiling, playful Grandpa who provided unconditional love and acceptance, excellent advice and big bear hugs.
To the people who knew John, he was a true friend, a man of honor and integrity and a renaissance man. John was a man who was respected in his profession, at his church, by his community and by all who knew him. He was well known for his compassion and his willingness to help those in need. John was an Eagle Scout with three palms, a veteran Air Force JAG officer, a past president of Civitan and a 51-year member of the Arizona Bar Association.
The evening prior to his departure, John had the opportunity to see many of his friends one last time at a Valentine's party in his home to raise money for his favorite educational project. He left one great party for another.
God's Peace be with you, John, and keep them laughing.
Services for John will be held at Valley Presbyterian Church, 6947 E. McDonald Dr., Paradise Valley, on Friday, February 21, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. Arrangements by Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home.
