DAGER, Charles Parnell (Chuck)


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, January 25, 2003 Charles (Chuck) Parnell Dager, born January 18, 1925 in Decatur, Indiana entered into rest on January 22, 2003. Charles was a resident of Glendale, Arizona for 42 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Constance Dager; his six children, Charles David (Carol) Dager of Phoenix, William Joseph (Myrna) Dager of N.Y., Mary Catherine (Dan) Myers of Phoenix, Dorothy Diana Pillen of Glendale, Dwight Daniel (Jean) of Phoenix, and Suzanne Christine (David) Schlief of Phoenix; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Isabelle Simpson of New Haven, Indiana. Charles was a truck and auto salesman for Sanderson Ford of Glendale, Arizona. He proudly served his country during WWII. He served as a Flight Maintenance Engineer and flew with the Eight Air Force 95th Bomb Group 334th Squadron in 1944. He received several medals including a Purple Heart and an Air Medal Award. Charles was a long time member and a Deacon Emeritius of the 1st Christian Church of Glendale, Az. He was a proud member of the Agua Fria Chapter American Ex-prisoners of War, and the American Legion Post #29 of Glendale, Az. Charles enjoyed auto racing and belonged to the Sports Car Club of America and the Arizona Classic Thunderbird Club. Charles will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2003 at 1st Christian Church 6242 N. 59th Ave., Glendale, Az., with a funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, Az.
