WALDRON, Charles Philip

Charles Philip Waldron, Sun City West, AZ, passed away on July 4, 2002. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on September 28, 1919. He married Becky Johnston in 1941. He was a Captain in the Army and served in North Africa and in Italy, where he was awarded the Purple Heart at Monte Cassino. Returning to Iowa, he finished a degree in engineering at Iowa State University and opened Waldron Engineering Company which he ran for over thirty years. Chuck was active in Rotary International and throughout his life worked as a volunteer with many organizations. He was an avid ham radio operator and a master technician who could fix or build nearly anything. He and his wife traveled extensively, visiting every continent. Chuck will be greatly missed by his wife, Becky J. Waldron, of Sun City West; his sister Helen Daly of Des Moines, and his daughter Wendy Waldron Brandow of Los Angeles.
