BRITT,
Richard Dean
Richard Dean Britt passed away on June 26, 2002. He was born on July 22, 1931 in Hastings, Nebraska, and was raised not far from there in Doniphan, Nebraska.
He attended Hastings College for two years, before finishing his Architectural work at Arizona State. He attended USC for postgraduate work. In college he was in the ROTC and served two years as an officer in the Air Force. He was an Architect in Arizona for 46 years and was a talented creator. He designed and built many beautiful buildings and established an honorable business ethic. His greatest accomplishment was the loving and caring family he and his wife created by having and showing true compassion for each other. He laid a foundation of love that will be added to for generations. An avid golfer, he enjoyed spending his summers in Pinetop playing at White Mountain Country Club. He spent time with his family at his cabin, reading, chopping wood, building, and imparting his wit and wisdom to all those he loved. He spent his life putting his family first. He was a man of quiet dignity; a man of honor and his humanity was unmatched. Those who loved him so will miss him, but his legacy will live on in all those he touched as we follow his example of how to live life.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Miriam Ann Britt; his son, Chris Britt and wife Nicky; his daughter, Beth Jones and husband Craig; 3 grandchildren, Seth, Hannah and Emily; sister, Beverlee Cook, and many other family members also survive him.
Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Beatitudes, 555 W. Glendale Avenue, Tuesday, July 3rd at 3:00pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Church of the Beatitudes Chapel Building Fund, 555 W. Glendale Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85021.
