Ruth Lindahl Urbain, passed away February 17, 2003, Dallas, Texas.
Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Walter M. Urbain, she is survived by her two children, Robert W. Urbain, of Wilton, CT, and Elizabeth U. Balaze, of Dallas, Texas; and five grandchildren, Christa, Andrew, and Eric Urbain, and Jennifer and Karen Balaze. Ruth was born January 4, 1913, in Berwyn, Illinois, of Fannie and Oscar Lindahl.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Northwestern University in 1935. Prior to her marriage in 1939, Ruth was an Assistant Librarian in the Swift & Company Research Laboratories in Chicago, Illinois. Ruth grew up in Berwyn, Illinois, and lived in Western Springs, Illinois, before moving to East Lansing, Michigan, where her husband was on the faculty of Michigan State University.
She and her husband retired to Sun City, Arizona in 1975. They then moved to Dallas, Texas, in 2001. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all who know her.
The service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, March 1, 2003 in the Chapel of Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
