The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 22, 2003 Catherine Isabelle Shaffer, 77, of Gilbert, AZ, died Thurs., Feb. 20, 2003. Born Fri., Sept. 18, 1925. Visitation on Sat., Feb. 22, 2003 from 9-10am with services at 10am at St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church, Casa Grande, AZ. Burial following at Casa Grande Mt. View Cemtery, Casa Grande, AZ Courtesy of Pat Wilson. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Catherine Isabelle Shaffer, 77, of Gilbert, and formerly a longtime Casa Grande resident, died peacefully in her sleep Feb. 20, 2003 at Banner Hospice. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande. Funeral Mass there will follow at 10, celebrated by the Rev. Peter Kwachukwu. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. A reception will follow at 1:30 p.m. at 252 N. Tiago Drive in Gilbert, the home of her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Shaffer was born Sept. 18, 1925 in Stanberry, Missouri. She was a homemaker. She had lived the last five years in Mesa and Gilbert with her son Paul and his wife, Anita. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Tiderman, of Annapolis, Maryland; four sons, Philip Shaffer, of Perpianan, France, Patrick Shaffer, of Carlsbad, California, Paul Shaffer, of Gilbert and Peter Shaffer, of Melbourne, Florida; two sisters, Deane Lanzano, of Winter Springs, Florida, and Carol Allen, of Niles, Michigan; and nine grandchildren.
