The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, January 26, 2003 Nellie Rainville Gillespie, 84, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away January 24, 2003. She was born January 2, 1919 in Santa Rita, New Mexico. Nellie was raised in Duncan, Az. and was known as Arizona's Grandma Troubadour. She attended ASU, enjoyed music, and was a professional musician, storyteller and fiddler. She is survived by daughter, Janelle Ballaring; son, Gary (Sharon) Gillespie; sister-in-law, Florine Fowler; two granddaughters, Shannon and Cassi and two great-grandsons, Jack and Sam. Funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 30th, 11:00 a.m., at the A. L. Moore Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix, Az.
