Art Smith, intrepid air mail pilot, dies in an airplane crash. Brave men, these coursers of the air, and heroes. Every new science claims its toll of human life. Every great undertaking is frought with risk--that civilization may progress.
Art Smith was none the less a hero because he died clad in a leathern coat and helmet instead of being bedecked by spurs and sabre.
