CHITWOOD, Patricia

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 23, 2003 Patricia Andersen Chitwood, 92, of Chandler, Arizona, died February 20, 2003. Born on a train near Yuma, Arizona, June 22, 1910 to Danish parents, John Marinus and Karen Christine Andersen, she graduated from Chandler High School in 1927, then attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri, UCLA Berkeley, Arizona State Teachers College, and St. Joseph's Nursing School. She was married in 1933 to Philip Gibson "Bud" Chitwood, a farmer in Chandler. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Cecelia Andersen, Elizabeth Hall and John James Andersen. Survivors are sons John Philip and Charles Robert Chitwood, daughters P. Jane Johnson and Carolyn Fairall, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Service will be held at 10am, Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Dr., Chandler with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Double Butte Cemetery in Tempe, Arizona. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
