John F. Baker, 65, our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, lost his long battle with cancer peacefully at home in Phoenix on February 21st.
He was born in Rochester, N.Y. on Dec. 1, 1937 to Frank & Anastasia Buckley Baker. He was graduated from Aquinas HS., St. Bonaventure University and the University of Rochester School of Business. Served in the USMC for 4 yrs.
Moved to Phoenix in 1969 and had a distinguished career with the Az. Bank, Security Pacific Bank and retired from Bank of America. His love of sailing, hiking, golf and tennis filled his spare time.
He is survived by his wife Roberta (Bobbie) Fischer Baker, Daughters Susan Baker Conley, Kathleen Baker Costello and sons Timothy John Baker and Christopher Robert Baker. He felt blessed with his 6 1/2 grandchildren and will also be missed by his two sisters, Maryann Baker Skelly, Rochester, N.Y., and Sheilah Baker Janes, Columbus Ohio.
Arrangements are 6-8PM Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N 7th St. Phoenix, AZ with service at St. Paul's Catholic Church 330 W Coral Gables Dr., Phoenix, AZ Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to Hospice of the Valley,Florence Crittenden Services and St. Paul's Catholic Church.
