The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 28, 2003 Mary Louise Passmore, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on February 26, 2003. She was 88 years old. Mary Louise was born on March 25, 1914 in Logansport, Indiana. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Stanley Richard Passmore, Sr.; her three children and their spouses, Dick Passmore and wife Judy, Steve Passmore and wife Joanne, Nancy (Passmore) Wood and husband Russ; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She also is survived by her brothers, Sylvester B. Kerlin of Brookville, OH, and James T. Kerlin of Pismo Beach, CA, and is predeceased by her brother, Thomas W. Kerlin of Winchester, VA. Mary Louise moved with her family to Phoenix from Dayton, OH in September 1958. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1962. She served as the Arizona District Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association during the 1960's and 1970's. As Director she set up the first affiliated broadcast for the Jerry Lewis Telethon in Arizona, in 1970. She founded the Arizona Chapter of the Leukemia Society in 1973 and served as the Executive Director for six years. She also was a member of the Midtowners Business and Professional Women, the Camelback Soroptimist International, the Phoenix Executives Club and the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, serving as President of the Arizona Chapter in 1978, As a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother she loved her family dearly. She will be missed by both family and friends. A service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 1 at 2PM with a viewing 1 hour prior to the service.
