Martha Jean Peddie, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Westminster Village. She was 83 years old. Marti was born May 23, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan to Clare and Henry Eddy.
She attended the University of North Carolina Women's College at Greensboro, N.C., and transferred to Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., where she graduated with a degree in speech and drama. Later, she worked in radio and television.
She married Frank Peddie on September 1, 1942. In 1959 Marti and her family moved to Scottsdale, Az.
She was an active member and on the vestry of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. She was a member of the "AK" PEG chapter and Delta Gamma Alumnae. Marti also enjoyed serving as a Cub Scout Den mother. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Peddie and survived by her sister, Kay Hoovler; sons, Christopher, Timothy and Dan Peddie; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 3, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 6715 N. Mockingbird Lane, Paradise Valley, Az. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westminster Village Assistance Fund, 12000 N. 90th St., Scottsdale, Az., 85260.
