TRIMBLE, Danny Lee (Dr.)


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 24, 2003 Dr. Danny Lee Trimble, DVM, Feb. 19. Born in Mesa February 23, 1941, Dr. Trimble grew up in Ash Fork, AZ. After attending West Phoenix High School where he was a member of the baseball team, he worked on the Santa Fe Railroad in Winslow as a fireman and, later, worked as a cowboy in Colorado. Graduating Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1970 from Colorado State University, he was one of the first to base his practice in the rural areas north of Phoenix, specializing in horses but healing cows and cowboys when necessary. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Walker; brother, Marshall; uncle, Bill Rogers; aunt, Jeffie Talbott; niece, Denise Raciak and nephew, Lt. Roger Trimble. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Along with his veterinary work, he loved music and was an accomplished classical guitarist. He died in peace, north of Cave Creek, at the Golden Reef mine, an old family property. Featured in the recent book, The Desert Home, the unique house he designed and built there with his own hands was the one of his many creations of which he was most proud. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the "Trimble Scholarship Fund" at The Maricopa Colleges Foundation.
