The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 24, 2003 Mary A. (Taylor) Wheat, age 77, passed away Feb. 22, 2003 in Sun City, AZ. Born June 5, 1925 in Boswell, OK to Fred H. & Silva S. (Gatin) Taylor, she served her country in the 82nd Women's Army Corp Hospital Company during WWII. Mary was a U.S. Postal Worker for over 16 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sun City West, AZ. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 28 years, Thomas Wheat; brothers Harlin, Ira, Loyd, Elbert, James & Homer Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (James Harry) Lacey; step-daughters, Patricia Miller & Donna Sharrit; sons, Ron (Marcia) & Don (Ann) Wheat; sister, Myrtle (Ernest) Grigg; brother, Henry (Dorothy) Taylor; 10 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren; close friend, Ernest Vega. Visitation 5:30-8:30pm, Tues., Feb. 25, 2003 and Funeral Service 10am, Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003 at Chapel of the Chimes, Glendale, AZ. Interment will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
