Virginia Jackson King formerly of Phoenix, passed away in Roseville, Calif., June 20, 2002. Born July 16, 1924, in Ithaca, N.Y., she soon moved to Madison, Wisc., with her family.
Virginia graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1946 with a degree in botany. Later, she completed studies toward a master's
degree in library science from the university. She retired in Phoenix, Ariz, from the May Company department stores and moved to Roseville, Calif., in 1996.
Virginia is survived by four children: Marilyn King Irvin and husband David Gray of Albuquerque, N.M., Nancy E. King of Ventura, Calif., Gordon King and wife Susan of Roseville, Calif., and Laura King Goodman and husband Blair of Greensboro, N.C. Four grandchildren also survived her: Brandon and Rayn King of Roseville, Calif., and Carey and Bess Goodman of Greensboro, N.C.
